MiJoi’s Business Partner Binary Group Aids Sandy Victims with Mobile Service

MiJoi congratulates our Arlington-based business partner, Binary Group, for their HomelessConnections mobile-enabled application that is being offered to help victims displaced by Hurricane Sandy to quickly locate survival services in one of the hardest hit areas of New Jersey. This tool helps Sandy victims find food, shelter and clothing services immediately.

HomelessConnections allows emergency responders, volunteers, and community organization staff to quickly access resources to help those in need and direct them to the closest locations for food, shelter, clothing, medical care, and other services. To find food, shelter, clothing and other services in your area, go to www.homelessconnections.com or text 347-354-2508 with your zip code and service need (i.e., 07716, food or 07730, shelter or 07748, clothing or 07755, help).

The mobile service is simple and intuitive to use and can function on any smart phone, tablet or laptop. Also designed to function in the most austere communication conditions, services can easily be located by simply sending a text to 347-354-2508.

MiJoi CEO, La Vida Clary Mason is excited to see an app originally developed for the Department of Veteran Affairs' Innovation Initiative Project REACH, in collaboration with the Departments of Housing and Urban Development, Health and Human Services, and the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, being used to help Hurricane Sandy victims in need of critical services. “This type of innovative thinking is what sets Binary Group apart from those who wait for the Government to bring them a request. They are always looking for ways to share and extend their services,” Mason said. Binary Group created this app to be simple and intuitive to use on any smart phone, tablet or laptop.
